I Would Like to Know About

  • Can I use Resecta’s protein in/on Humans?

Our proteins are intended strictly for research and laboratory purposes only and they cannot be used in and/or on humans in any way or form. Using by humans is solely at their own risk.

  • Which analytical data do you provide for peptides?

    • - Molecular formula
    • - Theoretical molecular mass
    • - Molecular mass, obtained by mass spectrometry
    • - Purity, determined by HPLC
    • - Appearance
    • - Solubility test

  • Which analytical data do you provide for your amino acid derivatives?

The range of analytical data listed on the ADS depends on the type of product, as methods for analyzing amino acid derivatives (and very short peptides), peptides, and “non-peptidic” compounds differ somewhat. An Analytical Datasheet issued for an amino acid derivative can list:

    • Lot number
    • Type of product: catalog or custom-synthesized
    • Product number
    • Product designation
    • Molecular formula
    • Relative molecular mass
    • Tests performed
    • Appearance
    • Appearance of solution, solvent
    • Molecular mass, obtained by mass spectrometry
    • Elemental analysis
    • Purity (determined by TLC), TLC conditions
    • Optical rotation
    • Melting Point
    • Water content
    • Substitution (loaded resins)

  • What purity of peptide do I need for my application?

The minimal requirement of peptide purity is dependent on your application.

    • >75%, preferably >85%: Immunological applications, polyclonal antibody production and non-sensitive screening
    • >90%: SAR studies, bioassays
    • >95%: In vitro bioassays such as ELISA, enzymology, biological activity
    • >98%: Structural studies such as crystallography, NMR or sensitive bioassays
Please refer to our Peptide Purity Guideline for more details.

  • How long an amino acid bond can you synthesize?

We can synthesize peptides and peptide hormones up to 276aa. Standard solid phase procedures can produce peptides in range from 5 to 50 amino acids in length. For long peptides over 50 amino acids, we use convergent peptide synthesis approach to link two peptides in solution. Please note, the efficiency for synthesis and purification for longer peptides will be much lower than usual, and the production time may be substantially longer.

  • What is the expiry date?

The protein is stable for at least 12 months from the date of its export at the mentioned storage conditions prior to its reconstitution. If stored properly, it can last for years.

  • How to store peptides and amino acid derivatives?

The recommended storage temperature is mentioned in the product entry of the derivative. Generally, amino acids derivatives should be stored in a tightly closed vessel. They should be protected from humidity and light.
